On Tuesday, 17 February 2026, the NITRO project was represented at the 13th Information Security Conference, organised by BOUSSIAS and netweek in Athens. The event brought together leading stakeholders from the cybersecurity ecosystem, including representatives from public authorities, industry, academia, and European institutions, creating an important forum for dialogue on resilience, regulation, and digital trust.

As part of the conference, Stella Tsitsoula (HCSI) moderated two high-level sessions: a panel discussion on Public Sector Cybersecurity and a fireside chat on Europe\u2019s Cybersecurity Landscape. The panel featured distinguished participants from the wider cybersecurity ecosystem, including the National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece, reinforcing the relevance of the discussion to national and European cybersecurity coordination. The exchanges highlighted key priorities for today\u2019s organisations, including the need to move beyond compliance toward real operational resilience, strengthen certification and preparedness, and deepen public-private collaboration in response to emerging threats such as SCADA-related risks and AI-driven attacks.

NITRO\u2019s presence in this context further underlined the project\u2019s relevance to the broader European cybersecurity agenda. As a Digital Europe initiative focused on the development of an interconnected 5G-IoT cyber range for training and secure operations, NITRO contributes to the advancement of practical cybersecurity capabilities, realistic training environments, and skills development for complex digital infrastructures. Participation in events such as the Information Security Conference is particularly valuable for strengthening dissemination and stakeholder engagement. The involvement of representatives connected to national cybersecurity governance structures, including the National Cybersecurity Authority of Greece, also supports NITRO\u2019s wider objective of fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange with the European cybersecurity community, including relevant CERT\/CSIRT and institutional networks. Such interactions are important for building liaison channels, promoting mutual awareness, and contributing to the project KPI related to collaboration with CERTs\/CSIRTs across the EU.

The NITRO consortium remains committed to promoting innovation, collaboration, and hands-on cybersecurity education through activities that bring together research, policy, and operational expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
