The NITRO project was presented at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) by Stylianos Karagiannis (IURC), highlighting the project’s work on advanced cyber range technologies for next-generation digital infrastructures. At the centre of the presentation was the NITRO 5G-IoT Cyber Range, an advanced training and experimentation environment designed to support cybersecurity testing, skills development, and realistic training for 5G ecosystems, IoT networks, and critical digital infrastructures.
The presentation showcased how the NITRO Cyber Range moves beyond conventional cybersecurity exercises by providing high-fidelity environments capable of reproducing complex and realistic cyberattack scenarios.
Key aspects presented included:
- High-fidelity cybersecurity training for 5G and IoT environments
- Realistic simulation of complex cyberattacks
- Cybersecurity testing for critical digital infrastructures
- AI-driven techniques for smart and adaptive training scenarios
- Dynamic scenario generation for emerging cyber threats
- Improved preparedness and operational readiness through cyber range technologies
NITRO’s participation at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair provided an important opportunity to demonstrate how European research and innovation can translate advanced cybersecurity technologies into practical tools for training, experimentation, and infrastructure protection.
A special thank you to everyone who attended the presentation and contributed to the discussions around the future of cybersecurity training and cyber resilience.
