The NITRO project cp-organised the 6th International Workshop on Advances on Security and Privacy Technologies and Solutions (IWAPS 2026), held in Linköping, Sweden, in conjunction with the ARES 2026 Conference.
IWAPS 2026 brought together researchers, cybersecurity experts, and innovators to exchange knowledge and present recent advances in security, privacy-preserving technologies, trustworthy AI, cyber defence, and resilient digital infrastructures.
Interest in this year’s workshop was particularly strong, with 58 research papers submitted, of which 14 were accepted and presented, corresponding to an acceptance rate of 24%. Christos Xenakis (UPRC) served as one of the Workshop Chairs, while NITRO was among the European research and innovation projects supporting the organisation of the workshop.
The workshop addressed several research areas closely related to NITRO’s objectives, including:
- Advanced cybersecurity and cyber-defence technologies
- Privacy-preserving and trustworthy AI
- Security and privacy for IoT and cyber-physical systems
- Adversarial robustness and secure machine learning
- Emerging technologies for cyber-resilient infrastructures
NITRO’s involvement in IWAPS 2026 further supported the exchange of scientific knowledge and collaboration between European research initiatives working towards more secure, resilient, and trustworthy digital ecosystems.
A special thank you to all authors, reviewers, organisers, session chairs, and participants who contributed to the success of IWAPS 2026.
