The NITRO project was represented at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) during the panel “Cybersecurity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, organised by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI/EBEA).
Stella Tsitsoula (HCSI) participated in the discussion alongside Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos, Secretary General for Information Systems and Digital Governance, Melina Skondra, Lawyer, MSc Law & Informatics, CIPP/E, and Dr. Fotios Gkritsis, Quantum Technologies Specialist at Sthenos AI. The discussion was moderated by Sophia Efraimoglou-Kounenaki, First Vice President of ACCI.
The panel explored how the rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence is transforming the cybersecurity landscape and creating both new opportunities and emerging risks for organisations.
Particular emphasis was placed on:
- The evolving cyber threat landscape in the age of AI
- Cyber resilience as a strategic organisational priority
- The importance of cybersecurity awareness and continuous education
- Protecting organisational data and critical digital assets
- Developing a strong cybersecurity culture across all organisational levels
- Combining technological innovation with effective governance and human preparedness
A central message of the discussion was that cyber resilience starts with the fundamentals: awareness, prevention, education, preparedness, and effective communication. As AI technologies become increasingly integrated into business and public-sector operations, cybersecurity must become part of everyday organisational practice rather than being treated solely as a technical responsibility.
NITRO’s participation in such discussions supports the project’s mission to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities, awareness, skills development, and preparedness across Europe.
