NITRO at the Energy Corridors Summit: AI-Enabled Cyber Resilience for Critical Energy

July 22, 2026

The NITRO project was represented at the Energy Corridors Summit through the thematic panel “AI-Enabled Cyber Resilience for Critical Energy Corridors”, moderated by Stella Tsitsoula (HCSI).

The panel brought together experts from cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, defence, and industry to discuss how Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity technologies, and emerging digital solutions can strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure supporting Europe’s energy corridors. The discussion featured John Forward, Senior Solutions Architect at Tototheo Global, Alexandros Ioakeimidis, representing Defence & Critical Infrastructure Security at SEKPY, and Panagiotis Soulos, Information Security GRC Senior Manager at STEELMET Corporate Services.

The discussion highlighted that protecting increasingly interconnected energy infrastructures requires more than individual technological solutions. It calls for a coordinated approach combining advanced cybersecurity capabilities, trusted AI, situational awareness, preparedness, and collaboration across sectors. NITRO’s involvement reflects the project’s broader objective of strengthening European cyber resilience by developing advanced cybersecurity capabilities, training environments, and mechanisms that support preparedness against emerging and complex cyber threats.

A special thank you to the Energy Corridors Summit organisers, the moderator, and all panellists for contributing to this important discussion on the future of secure and resilient critical infrastructure.
