The NITRO project was represented by Christos Xenakis (UPRC) at the panel discussion “Outpacing the Threat – Why Europe Needs a Unified Cyber Shield and How to Build It”, organised by the COcyber project.
The panel brought together experts from academia, policy, and industry to discuss the current state of cross-border cybersecurity collaboration in Europe, identify existing challenges, and explore practical actions needed to strengthen a unified European cyber defence ecosystem. During the discussion, Christos Xenakis highlighted the importance of a coordinated, proactive, and capability-driven European cybersecurity strategy. As cyber threats increasingly transcend national borders, stronger collaboration, shared situational awareness, advanced cyber capabilities, and trusted partnerships among public authorities, academia, industry, and European institutions are essential to enhance Europe’s cyber resilience.
NITRO’s participation demonstrated how European research and innovation initiatives contribute to strengthening cybersecurity capabilities through advanced cyber range technologies, training, collaboration, and operational preparedness.
A special thank you to the COcyber project for organising this valuable discussion and bringing together the European cybersecurity community.
