On 5 February 2026, the NITRO project was presented at the 2nd Cyber Intelligence and Cybersecurity Summit 2026, titled “Information as Defense: From Everyday Life to Global Strategy”, held at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis Athinon).
The presentation was delivered by Ioannis Makropodis from UPRC, highlighting NITRO’s vision and capabilities in advancing cyber-range technologies.
NITRO focuses on the development of an advanced cyber range for 5G networks, IoT ecosystems, and adversarial AI attack scenarios, aiming to strengthen preparedness, testing, and resilience against modern and emerging cyber threats. The Summit provided an excellent platform to engage with stakeholders from defense, government, academia, and industry, and to showcase how NITRO contributes to next-generation cybersecurity research and training.
The Summit was held under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Digital Governance of Greece, and the Ministries of the Republic of Cyprus, including the Ministry of Defence of Cyprus and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.
